Police: 75pc certain body is William Yau

January 25, 2013
SUBANG JAYA, Jan 25 — The police are 75 per cent certain that the partially decomposed body of a boy found in Port Klang yesterday is that of William Yau Zhen Zhong, The Star Online quoted Subang Jaya OCPD assistant commissioner Yahaya Ramli as saying this afternoon.
Another report by the same news portal also said that the boy’s parents, Yau Kok Kang and Goh Ying Ying, today had identified the body based on scars on the front and back of the head, as well as garments of clothing that he was last seen in.
Post-mortem results could not determine the cause of death, but indicated that he had likely been dead for a week, The Star said.
It is understood the results of a DNA test conducted during the post-mortem will only be known in a few days’ time.
Bernama reported yesterday that the partially-decomposed body of a boy, believed to be about six years of age, was found entangled at the base of a boat off the Sungai Sireh jetty near the Sri Perantau in Port Klang at about 7.30pm.
The body was barefoot and clad in a round-neck T-shirt and yellowish-orange shorts.
